Dear Friends,

Amazon #1

VIRTUAL EVENTS
Book Revue and Watchung Booksellers

I want to take this opportunity to invite you to two upcoming virtual book events, which I have affectionately dubbed my “East and West of the Hudson” Book Tour.

On Thursday, September 10th at 7pm, I’ll be virtually speaking about Smoke but No Fire at the Book Revue in Huntington, NY. I can’t wait to chat with all my Long Island friends and family, and anyone else who might want to come out! The event is free but pre-registration is requested.

On Sunday, September 20th at 6pm, join me for a virtual conversation through Watchung Booksellers, where I’ll be chatting with one of my very best friends, Raman Gill, an amazing criminal defense lawyer, about Smoke but No Fire and what needs to happen for criminal justice reform to happen. Please join me for my Montclair book launch. Pre-registration is requested for this free event.

Obviously, these events are virtual and it doesn’t matter where you live. Just come! And if you have not yet purchased the book, I hope you will consider ordering Smoke but No Fire directly from these amazing independent book stores. They keep our spirits high by celebrating writers and readers, and by providing programming that inspires and brings joy.

Author proceeds for every book purchased will go toward supporting exonerees upon their release from prison! It’s a win-win for all. I really hope to see you there.

These are trying times, to be sure. Jacob Blake and the events in Kenosha are harsh reminders that we must continue to fight every day for racial equality and justice. And, of course, COVID-19 continues to cast its long shadow over our everyday lives. But despite all of the challenges we face, I remain ever optimistic. I believe we are resilient. I believe we can make a difference. I believe that we must call out injustice whenever and wherever it rears its ugly head, and I believe that our voices are louder and more powerful when they are raised together.

Thanks for all that you do!
Stay safe and well,
Jessica
